Everything points to a good jury - just happy this is over.

Libby is also a hero for exposing the real threat of child predators and their easy access to innocent but curious minds.

Beautiful and wonderful is what Libby & Abby are.

As one who was sitting on the fence contemplating if the State proved their case I feel good about the guilty verdict. These Jurors took their time in coming to this decision and obviously took great care in examining and discussing all the evidence. A job well done IMHO.

I haven’t seen a clear answer on death penalty vs not death penalty, and it appears in Indiana that a jury basically decides after the conviction if any of the aggravating factors that would qualify for death penalty have been found beyond a reasonable doubt.

Since they just convicted him twice of a crime involving those aggravating factors, I’m curious how this will go.

In any case, that may be why the gag order is still in effect.

Very good point. The jurors don't need more complications and stress.

I am so happy Abby and Libby have received justice! What lovely little girls - the world is a worse place without them. They should be HERE!

I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of sorrow with this case. Let me be clear - I’m not an RA apologist or think he’s NG. I think he did it.

I just feel so bad for his wife and daughter. It sounds like his wife was blindsided and in denial. Can you blame her? Don’t get me started on the stuff he confessed about his daughter.

These crimes leave absolute CRATERS in everyone’s life. Gee.

I am pleased the jury took their duty seriously and deliberated and delivered the just verdict.
I hope the families of both Abby and Libby can finally find some sort of closure with the reading of the words “Guilty”.
I hope the town of Delphi and its community can start to heal.
I hope that RA’s family can also find some respite in this time when they can choose to accept the verdict and the truth and start healing as well.
I have appreciated this civil and thoughtful online community during this whole case.
I certainly learned a lot from the knowledgeable and insightful members that shared their experience and opinions.
Abby and Libby we will always remember.
I am so glad legal justice finally came.

Probably all of the actual evidence that was held out.

Like a metallurgists, Odinists, and people who had been investigated and found unrelated and uninvolved in the crime, and the corrupt actions of nearly everyone in Indiana? Well, I hope they stick to legal reasoning rather than continuing to use questionable creativity to argue any appeals... then they "might" have a chance. jmo

Judge learns the verdict same time as everyone else right? Totally second guessing my knowledge of court proceedings after this case -
I believe the judge receives the verdict in writing from the foreman and reads is silently, then has the forman read it aloud.

Shout out to WTHR reporter Bob Segall who besides providing great coverage of the trial, also cleaned up the rubbish left behind. Makes for a better understanding on why Judge Gull ruled no food or drink inside the courtroom.

Agreed. His family has been victimized as well. I personally don't understand staying with a man in prison for murder, but she may have her own reasons.

I am glad he was found guilty. It seems to me that this was a crime of opportunity, that R had thought about for a long time. Then, he did it, and it wasn't quite as exciting as he expected it to be. Which explains the lack of sexual assault.

Now Richard Allen can rot, and undoubtedly still feel aggrieved that none of the other prisoners or staff like him, and not because of a stupid conspiracy theory, because he’s the lowest of the low.

So bitter sweet seeing the families hugging outside of the courthouse. Life isn't fair. Their girls should be here enjoying life. Was that Abbys mum with the tie die blanket? I swear I've seen one of the girls wearing something like that in pictures. It makes you realise everything that was lost to those families.
My heart is breaking for them that they'll never see their girls again.

But it gives me great pleasure to be able to say Richard Allen is officially guilty. He took those girls. He walked through the community pretending he didnt every day. He walked past those sketches. May have even visited their memorial garden. All that time knowing what he had done. Thought he had got away with it for years. Didn't know how many people had seen him or that Libby had bravely caught him on camera.

I hope he feels the same fear every single day now he is in prison that he subjected those girls to that day in February over 7 years ago. Go rot. You are nothing.

Reward $ for Tip?

@getthefax Thx for your response. :)
What my post said:
"I wonder if someone else who provided info - info which may not have surfaced at trial - may try to elbow her out of it."

Thinking about the number of tips (10,000, 15,000, or more?), seems RA's name may have been emailed to the tip address, w a bit of info like this:
RA must be the killer because he look really suspicious.
Or RA must be the killer because when I was behind him in checkout line at the Alco store he looked at a magazine cover w pic of teenage girl.
IOW, not much of a tip to help a double homicide investigation.

I can see someone who provides a "tip" like this CLAIMING HIS INFO led to RA's arrest, i.e., trying to elbow out others (which may or may not include KS).

Also re earlier post.
IIRC multiple posts have said or suggested that KS should receive (all or some) reward $, and my first sentence basically repeated that unnecessarily.

As to KS expecting reward, I have no clue but don't see how my post suggested that or how it made any judgment about her or the reward.
Oh, yes—I didn’t mean to imply you implied that—sorry. I just meant I didn’t think it was a motivating factor and hadn’t seen any official source discussing that angle.

I think we all mean to say KS is a hero today

Early today I was hoping so hard for justice for these beautiful young girls, Abigail Williams and Liberty German, dear Abby and Libby.

The memory of their innocent and beautiful faces is forever etched in our minds and our hearts.

Fly high sweet girls. Together in life, together in death, and together in justice, you will never be forgotten.
