finally justice for Abby and Libby. Can you actually imagine that monster walking the streets again? He never will.

Monsters will always be lurking in the shadows, hopefully this jury got it right and no more kids will be harmed in those woods. I can respect the jurors yet still disrespect the process.

Agreed. His family has been victimized as well. I personally don't understand staying with a man in prison for murder, but she may have her own reasons.

I am glad he was found guilty. It seems to me that this was a crime of opportunity, that R had thought about for a long time. Then, he did it, and it wasn't quite as exciting as he expected it to be. Which explains the lack of sexual assault.

I just have a weird sympathy pang for them. Sometimes your relatives are … well… just bad people.
Obviously this whole thing is about sweet Abby and Libby. Bittersweet.

Early today I was hoping so hard for justice for these beautiful young girls, Abigail Williams and Liberty German, dear Abby and Libby.

The memory of their innocent and beautiful faces is forever etched in our minds and our hearts.

Fly high sweet girls. Together in life, together in death, and together in justice, you will never be forgotten.

I thought it would be guilty or else a hung jury.

I kept thinking surely all 12 jurors wouldn’t think him not guilty.

I truly believe she deserves the reward money. She’s a hero, right behind Libby and Abby.

That would be awesome if KS got the reward. Perhaps can’t be since she was working with LE.

I wish the reward could go to the families. Probably can’t be so either.

Libby captured her own killer on film and audio.
Abby hid the phone under her body, I choose to believe.

Their brave and heroic actions led to this day of justice served.

Just heard the news! Coming back to say relief, they got the right guy! Continuing thoughts go towards the families of Abby and Libby, who have gone through this nightmare to see justice for the two girls. But who all continue to grieve their loss forever as it doesnt bring them back. I hope Richard Allen is sentenced to the fullest extent that the law allows for his evil actions.

I've been looking for YouTuber Andrea Burkhart's reaction to the guilty verdict, but as far as I can see, she has been silent thus far. She was very articulate in expressing her views, and I appreciated her perspective, but I thought she was over-the-top sympathetic to Allen, which was wrong in my view, and she became more and more difficult to listen to. Just because Allen did hard time while awaiting trial, does not mean he was innocent! I imagine Allen is hating his life, right about now! JMO

I'm so emotional over this, finally justice for Libby and Abby. I've always believed they had the right guy but the poor police work in investigating this awful crimes had me doubting at times. But Libby and Abigail's families deserve justice so they can finally heal.

I will take a moment to appreciate that Libby German helped capture her own killer, she deserves so much respect for that and I know her family must be so proud of her.
Rest in peace Libby and Abby, you won't be forgotten.

Was the verdict I expected, wasn't the verdict I would have rendered but we will see what happens with any appeals if he is successful in getting one, and I don't even know what appellate issues he could argue,
Of more immediate interest may be a civil suit against DOC, which he may have more success with,
For AW and LG family they will hope that once they have given victim impact statements in December that they are finished with legal process, and can finally start once again learning to live with the knowledge that at last the long road to finding out who killed their girls is over, and I think a huge weight will be lifted, but they will still have to live with there always being someone missing, and every joyful event is tinged with sadness, I just hope they can remember the happy times and memories with their girls, both AW and LG were lovely people from all we have learned of them,
And to all on here I often disagreed with some of you but we were able to agree or disagree respectfully and for all you who have tirelessly collected information thank you, and if we have to pay for transcripts I will look under my sofa cushions to see if I have a few pound coins to contribute

I am so happy Abby and Libby have received justice! What lovely little girls - the world is a worse place without them. They should be HERE!

This case -the incredible number of threads here for these girls - it’s almost hard to believe it’s been resolved. This is the closest possible thing to justice for them. It won’t bring them back but he will finally pay for his crime. Rest in sweet peace, Libby and Abby. I know families often say there’s not a huge relief or sense of satisfaction when a guilty verdict comes back, so my prayers will be for them as I’m sure the trial retraumatized them and made their grief fresh again.

Damn the people who think nothing of taking a child’s life.
