This makes sense to me. I could see that that would send him into a spin, and she was probably thinking about legal fees for his defense. After this, I think he decided to come clean to keep her from having to lose everything. But she refused to accept that he did it, and wanted him to go to trial. So sad… What a terrible thing to put the families through. It could’ve been avoided.Maybe Power of Attorney so she could sell the home?
I think they did the best they could too- AND I still struggle with the inability or unwillingness to spend the time and $$ to get it analyzed and a height estimate-This photo linked by shonyakay in the post above (attachment) reveals a clear example of some of the challenges likely posed in attempting to determine a specific height of BG.
At a glance I notice -
- if that’s a hat or hoody on his head, how high above the top of his head?
- his head is leaning forward, perhaps his whole upper body?
As for witnesses, I think they did the best they could in describing who they saw for very brief moments. Its for the jury will decide if their testimony is credible or not. I respect them for coming forward following the crime, some people would prefer to not get involved. Considering the criticism directed their way, just using this case as an example, I can see why. I am horrified for the girls and their loved ones. I wonder what their loved ones might be thinking as they hear this case? I'm sure none of this is easy for them and yet still somehow BP managed to bring fresh baked banana bread to the courtroom to pass around to those in attendance last week made by LG's father. Carroll County kindness is something else - Carroll County CometWait until you catch up to the part of this trial that describes what the victims experienced. You will be ABSOLUTELY horrified.

I'm behind and wanted to ask - these quotes- were they on video with audio by chance? Ty in advance if anyone knows.Clemons’ log from April 6, 2023, was displayed to the court. The following time stamps are quotes Clemons documented from Allen.
7:30 a.m.: “God, I am so glad nobody gave up on me after I killed Abby and Libby.”
8:01 a.m.: “I, Richard Matthew Allen, killed Abby and Libby all by myself, nobody helped me.”
8:03 a.m.: “I am not crazy, I am only acting like I’m crazy.”
Clemons mentioned a few other quotes from Allen, including “I am ready to confess,” “I don’t want to die,” and an unspecified moment where Allen was screaming nonsense.
[snip]
Other events noted when Allen began stuffing papers into the toilet, later saying, “Chris is my best friend.”

moo - my own struggle- I’m ok with struggling- not trying to convince anyone else to struggle with me- and no amount of posts podcasts or YT videos will change the fact that it seems odd to me-
I don't have an approved link yet, but I have read this motion now, and will represent that it is a motion to admit regarding 3rd party culpability evidence and theories. Not sure what the motion is for; I haven't read it yet or seen anything about it. If I learn something I can post, I will let you all know.
That's a great summary.Thread by

Delphi Murders Trial Day 10 Afternoon Wrap Up:
It was the longest day we've had since this trial began. In the afternoon, we heard the confessions Richard Allen made to prison guards at the Westville Correctional Facility where he was held for more than a year.
-We heard first from John Galipeau who was the former warden at Westville
-He went through what Allen's was life was like there
-Allen was on suicide watch for most of his time there
-He would have "suicide companions" watching him and monitoring what he did and said
-Galipeau said initially other inmates were monitoring Allen but that changed after he started acting "erratic"
-Prison guards took over as his suicide companions
-Galipeau said Allen started washing his face in the toilet and pooping in his cell
-Then Allen wrote a "request for interview" form which said "I'm ready to officially confess to Killing Abby and Libby"
-Here's a recreation we did during a viewing of exhibits last week:
-During cross examination, defense attorney Brad Rozzi pointed out that the area Allen was in was maximum security and house inmates who had conduct violations
-Rozzi reminded everyone that Allen was a pre-trial inmate and not convicted of a crime
-Galipeau told Rozzi he had never heard of a "safekeeper" (aka pre-trial inmate) being held in a pod like that in his 28 years with IDOC
-Galipeau said that because Allen was on suicide watch, he had more limitations than other inmates and was watched at all times
-Rozzi tried to ask about Galipeau being fired from the Department of Corrections but McLeland objected and Judge Gull agreed because it was outside the scope of what McLeland had asked about
-We then heard from 8 prison guards who were Allen's suicide companions
-All of them heard Allen confess to the murders in some sort of fashion
-Officer Michael Clemons heard Allen say "I'm glad nobody gave up on me after I killed Abby and Libby"
-Also heard Allen say "I'm not crazy, I'm only acting like I'm crazy"
-During cross, Rozzi asked if he heard Allen mention specific details? The answer was no.
-Clemons told Rozzi that other inmates would call Allen a "baby killer" and would tell him to kill himself
-During re-direct, Clemons said he didn't think Allen was crazy
-Next was Michael Robert who heard Allen say "I want to confess. I know a lot more"
-He also said "I killed Abby and Libby. My wife wasn't involved"
-He also heard Allen talking to himself saying "why are you doing this? Do you know god?"
-Allen also said things like "I'll take some KFC", "Am I already dead?" and "Can I go home? Am I in jail"
-During cross examination, Robert said he witnessed Allen smear his poop on the walls of his cell
-Roberts also saw him bang his head on the wall until it was bruised
-He also said Allen would stand in the corner and run naked
-Next was James Early
-He heard Allen say "I am ready to confess. I swear to god I killed Abby and Libby. me running"
-During cross, Early said he saw Allen penetrate himself with a spork
-Early also witnessed Allen drink from his toilet
-When Rozzi asked Early if it would be detrimental to someone's mental health to be in those conditions? He said yes
-Officer John Miller heard Allen say "funniest joke is how I killed them"
-Allen also told Miller he killed his family and grandchildren
-Miller said Allen told him a "bear claw" was hypnotizing him.
-Miller told the jury he didn't think Allen's mental health issues were genuine
-Then came Brandon Fisher who heard the most detailed confession
-Fisher says Allen said "he killed two girls in Delphi with a box cutter and threw it in the CVS dumpster"
-Fisher says Allen also said "he was going to rape them but panicked and killed them instead"
-He was banging his head on the wall while making some of these statements
-During cross, Rozzi began to ask about Fisher being fired from IDOC for providing false info but prosecutor objected and it was sustained
-Fisher told Rozzi he thought Allen was putting on an "act"
-Fisher said Allen would bang his head on the door while asking people to read the bible to him
-Fisher said Allen would also pretend he was in medieval times
-Allen also rubbed his poop on his face and left it there for two hours while in Fisher's presence
-Officer Raymond Smith said Allen told him "I killed those two girls so I have to kill myself"
-Smith also witnessed Allen standing in the corner of his cell naked and singing "God Bless America"
-Smith said Allen then began masturbating in front of the door
-Last was Jason Bedwell who works at the Wabash Valley prison where Allen was moved
-Said he heard Allen say "I'm sorry for what I did. Sorry for killing the girls" while he was laying down and crying
-Rozzi pointed out that there is no recording of that statement like the others
-For reference, here's the change Allen underwent while in prison
-In motions to get him moved, which were eventually granted, Allen's lawyers said Westville was like a prison of war camp
-They included these pictures as part of their evidence
View attachment 541738
-Jury was sent out around 6:30
-Many of them were looking at the clock towards the end of day
-Confessions we didn't hear about today are the ones Allen supposedly made to his family members
-We'll see if that comes up tomorrow

Finally we can put to rest the idea that RA was treated better than other inmates-Allen was on suicide watch for most of his time there
I thought suicide companions were part of the inmate program-Galipeau said that because Allen was on suicide watch, he had more limitations than other inmates and was watched at all times
Interesting.-We then heard from 8 prison guards who were Allen's suicide companions

There were scheduled bail hearings but the defence chose to use them to raise different issues.I find it more concerning that someone can be held 2 years without so much as a bail hearing or prelim.
Hopefully this case causes followers to vote for more liberal conditions and reformer candidates! Unfortunately the direction of travel in my country has tended to be the opposite, despite decline in serious crime.
At the end of the day, we get the coercive system we vote for and prison conditions are not the concern of a Judge overseeing a trial. The defence was not able to show the confessions were unconstitutionally coerced, and so far I see no reason to second guess their accuracy

All MOO (see: docket)
the guy on trial has lost a load of weight since the offence.....so if he matches the photo now - he cannot also match it then because he looks significantly different now.No doubt in my mind.
How would you prefer that he was housed?I’m completely sickened by the way Richard Allen was treated before his constitutional right to a fair trial.
The fact that this happened in America should terrify everyone here
The fact they let these psychotic ramblings into evidence as confessions is equally appalling

right. How would you prefer that he was housed?
What should have been done differently?

for what it's worth i don't think he bares much resemblence to either the guy on the video or the sketch pics or the various witness descriptions.
in fact if he hadn't placed himself on the trail that day, he would never be sitting in the courtroom at all
in fact if he hadn't placed himself on the trail that day, he would never be sitting in the courtroom at all
Funny how he changed that in a later interview. He went from putting himself there at the perfect timeframe for someone who did this, to the perfect timeframe for him to be innocent.Snipped: But he did and from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., right before, during, and after the kidnapping and murder of these two young girls'.
As Dr. Perlmutter testified to on August 1, 2024, knives are a classic signof Odinists/Norse Paganism culture and that knives are classically used inritualistic killings.
