Correct-this was the testimony and in my opinion they could do better. This was problematic for me

Because his feelings toward his his wife were ambivalent.
Love & hate/resentment
He felt guilty, knew it was wrong to harbour negative hateful feelings towards his family, so he substituted 2 innocent victims….to ‘save his family’.
Immediately after the crime ( perhaps even immediately after ordering the abduction) he felt shock & remorse for what he had done.
It didn’t play out as he’d fantasised.
He couldn’t even control two little girls but couldn’t leave them alive or his life was over.
His wife, mother & daughter would know he was a monster.
Everything after that was an attempt to hide the truth from his wife/family.
He complied with his wife’s wishes ( to help the police) as at this point he’s terrified of rejection & losing her love.
He was & is a deeply troubled man.

I do struggle with maintaining BOTH the image is too blurry and small to determine height within a reasonable range AND it’s simultaneously crystal clear who’s in it and it’s being used as the unifying factor in connecting RA to BGAllen has been listed as 5 feet 4 inches tall by his defense attorneys and 5 feet 5 inches tall in jail records.

Given the description of Libby’s video, just a very small image on a couple of video frames, possibly the issue of accurate estimation relates to camera distortion and movement of the subject.
Doesn’t impact if RA did it or not- but without that picture of BG also being RA the case falls apart- 3 witnesses saw 3 people is plausible-
If it’s clear enough for identification- and they know the dimensions of the bridge struts- I’m missing something on why it was so difficult to say between X and Y height from the video - moo

1. Day 10 of testimony was the first time jurors got to hear directly from Richard Allen. The longest day of testimony yet focused on 2 videotaped interrogations of Allen and his confessions from prison.
2. Jurors listened to nearly 3 hrs of his Oct 2022 meetings w police prior to his arrest. In the 1st video, Allen described where he was & what he saw on the day of the murders. He seemed relaxed, offering info freely. That changed when police asked to inspect his phone & home.
3. When investigator Steve Mullin asked Allen if he was Bridge Guy, Allen calmly told them, “Your attitude towards me has definitely changed… it’s not me. You’re not going to convince me it’s me. I had nothing to do with those murders.” Said he wasn’t going to be their fall guy.
4. After 90 min of questioning in which Allen remained calm, he told investigators they were “pissing him off,” called one an
& the room. Later that day, police served a search warrant on his home, where they recovered a gun later linked to a cartridge at the crime scene.
5. Video of the 2nd interrogation shown to jurors was more intense. ISP Lt Jerry Holeman told Allen about the gun lab results. Allen again remained calm, saying the testing was not correct & he had no explanation. Holeman said “The science doesn’t lie…I’m trying to help you.”
6. Holeman told Allen the media would portray him as a monster if he didn’t confess. Over & over, Allen said “I’m not going to admit to something I didn’t do.” Late in the interview, Allen’s wife was brought into the room. They hugged. She cried. He again denied any involvement.
7. Holeman: “Now you’re going to drag your wife & daughter thru this because you’re too bullheaded to get out ahead of this.”Allen: “You’re going to pay for what you’ve done to my wife. You want to with me, with me. But you leave my wife out of this.”
8. Holeman screamed at Allen, cussing him out. Allen said “if you’re going to arrest me, arrest me. Holeman replied “happy to.” The video was then stopped & the judge told jurors what happened next: Holeman placed Allen in handcuffs & arrested him for the murders of Abby & Libby.
9. Next the jury heard from 9 prison employees who said they heard Allen confess to the murders. Former Westville Prison warden John Galipeau said Allen’s confessed in a note: “I am ready to officially confess to killing Abby and Libby.” He also said Allen’s confessed verbally.

Except for the fact that RA placed himself at the bridge at the time the girls arrived, placed himself in the kind of clothes Libby’s photo shows, and a bullet from his gun was found by the murdered bodies. Then he admitted to multiple people he killed them. I believe he has a bit more of a burden than some defendants. Just my humble opinion

Agreed. IMO, that is why the defence created such outlandish tales (FM's). Leaking of photos to push the Odinists theory; to combat obvious incriminating evidence. Why else do it? IMO

However, it would be significant depending on when Richard Allen began receiving discovery from his attorneys. Obviously some of the more detailed confessions could've been influence by discovery materials.
There was some talk about that in court today but nothing definitive on when exactly he began receiving them. Obviously those materials would have more details about the crime and things like that. Not saying that's what happened but something to consider.

It was the longest day we've had since this trial began. In the afternoon, we heard the confessions Richard Allen made to prison guards at the Westville Correctional Facility where he was held for more than a year. <i></i>
-We heard first from John Galipeau who was the former warden at Westville
-He went through what Allen's was life was like there
-Allen was on suicide watch for most of his time there

One of his confessions is that he intended to rape them but panicked and killed them. That looks almost like some kind of temporary insanity plea based on his panic.
I’m sure that two parts of it are literally true in that he intended rape and ended in killing them. The panic may also be true but it’s optional.
I don’t think he ever intended to let them go. It was a planned crime. He’s a cold-blooded killer. Yes, a monster.

I don't think he ever was really ever ever ever going to kill himself..no reason to go to the trails..the suicidal BS is his emotional manipulation of his wife and family after he does something bad , [Mod snip] he is such a liar, he goes out with his gun to feel omnipotent..I'm sure he's done it before..he's a very angry guy..he's 5'4" tall and he hates feeling inadequate and smaller than other people . Saying he was going to kill himself is total garbage..I don't believe anything he says.

Maybe you misunderstood my post, the last thing I was trying to suggest is that the confinement conditions in either case were unacceptable, just that in Keyes’ case they were quite similar.
He wasn’t in straight up solitary either, he could talk to the FBI all he wanted and get smokes and coffee for doing so, and he at minimum had access to the prison library at times.
To be clear, I also am in no way suggesting that RA is like Israel Keyes, although from a discussion standpoint there are a couple interesting parallels.
The most pertinent one to me is he actually only confessed in detail to two murders where the victims were named [eta: two separate events, one of which had two victims] and in one of the two the actual evidence against him was nothing compared to what there is against RA in this case.
I do a lot of Keyes research and there are very, very few people out there suggesting he was straight up framed for the Currier murders.
Something happened to cause that 2 floor elevation on Libby's phone in a minute's time, from 2:31 p.m. to 2:32 p.m.
Libby's phone ceases movement at the conclusion of that 2 floor elevation. The phone was found under Abby's body.
My theory is the girls' tried to flee, or attempted to use the phone to call for help and in a panic RA killed them.

I don't usually get emotional about trial watching and generally able to remain objective, but this trial has left me fairly horrified. Since when do we put people who are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a max security prison for 13 months? How often does that happen in our country? And that's only the beginning of issues so far that have left me astounded.

well it's capitol murder one , he's a potential danger to society, and because his identity became public, he had to be confined in order to keep him alive. it's the responsibility of the state to protect him.
