I noticed this with the Jayme Closs case. Folks get too attached to their own pet theories and reality turns out to be simpler and less interesting as they'd imagined. They refused to believe a random stranger committed the murders and went as far as smearing Jayme as being involved.

This case had a lot of years, a lot of interest, and a lot of theories on suspects. In the end, it seems the simplest explanation makes the most sense: a drunk pervert did it and got lucky for five years.

I've got a basic medical question: If a person eats poop, doesn't it make them sick? Like, really sick?
Or manipulative. It was testified to that other prisoners do this. it's get their attention because nobody wants to smell a poop mess. I recall one of the guards also saying he commented he won't do that again.

This sounds like trying to manipulate things to me. As in he knew what he was doing.

That's not correct.

During cross-examination by defense attorney Bradley Rozzi, Wala acknowledged that she followed Allen's case with interest during her personal time even as she was treating him, a fact she mentioned to her supervisors.
how could she not see all the press and public info? we do not sequester drs.

In terms of the "misfiled" tip, I personally just don't think they should be using volunteers to handle any investigatory files, regardless of their affiliation and past work history. The case should be handled by actual employees, on the surface it might not seem wrong but it's another grain of sand in a failure of chain of command and procedure, my opinion only. The psychologists possibly illegal search of materials and going outside the boundaries of her scope in talking about the case and RA on the internet is also a red flag to me MOO.

Also MOO, regardless of how this trial ends I would be shocked if there weren't a ton of appeals, whether they are allowed or not will be the question.

Update on WISHTV about Dr Wala’s cross after lunch…

The jury asked questions about Allen’s mental illnesses, inquiring if brief psychotic disorders can reappear over time and if he knew the consequences of not eating four meals. Wala said psychotic symptoms of the disorders can reappear after going away, and Allen did know the consequences, saying they discussed it at one point.

I honestly don't know what to make of the confessions except the motivation is probably more complicated than even RA would understand.

I think the confessions are a mixture of:
* guilt
* utter shame, especially since his wife has stood by him through tough times and he KNOWS he was hiding stuff from her (if not murder, likely smutty stuff) and is ashamed he betrayed a good and faithful wife. I honestly think this is a big part of his confessions.
*despair over his deplorable conditions and what his life has become
* frustration - what power did he have except to eat poop and shout about the ugly things he did? He could control those things and nothing else.
*perhaps attempts at getting moved to a better facility due to mental health issues.

jmopinion at the moment
He seemed acutely aware of the full extent of the harm he had done to his wife and daughter and that it would be lasting damage. Agree that's probably a big part of his motivation to confess

With Brad Weber testifying that he got off work at 2:02 pm and was driving a van I am now leaning towards guilty unless it was in the discovery that Brad Weber was driving a van by at that time.

Still waiting to hear the defense before forming a final conclusion

This may have been discussed already but my Mom passed away recently as you can imagine I’ve not been that focused on trial.

I’m wondering if during trial there’s been any mention of events surrounding discussion by pool hall owner who questioned RA about the resemblance between BG and him (RA). Allen supposedly responded to pool hall owner by stating he (RA) had contacted LE on his (RA) whereabouts that day.

And why not just run away leaving girls, he was so concerned about being disturbed he continued on with his crimes still in broad daylight
MOO he didn't wish to leave living witnesses to his attempt to SA minor children. Witnesses who are no longer living cannot identify their attacker.

A little truth in every lie...

I think RA is still keeping a dirty little secret (about what happened after he forced two little girls to undress at gunpoint point).

I think the truth is he got spooked while he was building a mesh of branches to hide the evidence/bodies, that's what he wasn't able to finish.

Perhaps his internet searches will illuminate the minutes he skimmed over.

so you think he did assault them? Or he could not, so he just killed them? Or he is the wrong suspect but wishes he killed them? All sick to me. IMO.

Still waiting to hear what evidence RA destroyed.

@davebangert

A few other bits from afternoon testimony on Day 11Steve Mullin, prosecutor’s investigator, testifies the only 2016 black Ford Focus SE in Carroll County in Feb 2017 belonged to Richard Allen. Prosecution ties it to security footage on CR 300 North day of the murders. 9/

Brad Weber, who lives off private lane southeast of where Abby and Libby were found, testifies he drove his Ford EconoVan home after getting off shift at 2:02 pm at SIA, 25 minutes away in Lafayette. When challenged by defense that he made stops that day, Weber denies it. 10/

For good measure, defense atty Andrew Baldwin hands Weber a subpoena. Sounds like we’ll hear from him again after the state rests its case. Expected Thursday: Prosecutor told judge to expect 2 hours of audio, without specifying what. Waiting on more confessions from Allen. 11/

Yes. The Odinism theory is completely looney tunes, and the evidence as we know it does not support the theory when put under any sort of real scrutiny.

For instance, we’re supposed to believe that RA’s confessions to anyone that would listen are the result of mental instability and not to be believed, but the alleged uncorroborated confessions of a potentially mentally handicapped individual are magically extraordinary proof of his involvement.

I particularly like that they have to move the murders like 12 hours, introduce a kidnapping theory that has zero support, let the jury believe that 2+ people would be able to do this without being seen or leaving any traces, that BG either didn’t kidnap the girls or was one of these two people that don’t fit the descriptions…

I think this is a huge mistake being made by the defense, and it will only assist the prosecution. I can’t believe they’re still on this.

May I?

Prozac

The supervisors did not have issue with Wala’s interest in the case, she confirmed, and added that Allen came into the prison on Prozac. His dosage was later adjusted.
Any idea when they started treating him with Haldol, an anti-psychotic?

My understanding is that a volunteer found the misfiled tip years later, not that a volunteer was responsible for the misfiling/mislabeling back in Feb 2017.

ETA: If it wasn't for the volunteer recognizing the mislabeled name and bringing it to LE's attention there is no telling where the case would be today.
